The Turkish Public Prosecutor's Office has begun investigating Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and 78 other detainees on terrorism and corruption charges, amid a tense atmosphere and mass demonstrations and protests across Turkey against his arrest, European and international condemnation, and demands for fair judicial procedures.
