Türkiye reports: A pilot was killed when an F-16 fighter jet belonging to the 9th Air Base crashed during a mission in Balıkesir province, western Turkey.

Turkish MoD: Radio communication and radar contact with one of our F-16 aircraft, which had taken off from the 9th Main Jet Base Command in Balıkesir, was lost as of 00:56. As a result of search and rescue operations launched immediately, it was determined that the aircraft had crashed, and the wreckage has been reached. Our pilot has been killed. The cause of the accident will be determined following the investigation to be conducted by the accident investigation team.
